The 2009 Ford F-150 has arrived. Other than the new frame (stronger and stiffer made possible with the extensive use of ultra high strenth steel) and exterior (primarily the redesigned tailgate, grill, hood and wheel lips)there are more standard features, more options and the addition of a new model, The Platinum Edition.
Standard equipment includes, AdvanceTrack with Roll Stability Control (RSC), Trailer Sway Control, side impact and side curtain airbags. The new standard "Easy Fuel" capless fuel-filler system is sure to be a crowd pleaser as well as managing evaporative fuel vapors. The biggie for the off road crowd is the standard electronic locking rear differential. (This is standard on the FX4 only and not available on any other model.)
Option highlights include Ford/SYNC with 911 assist and vehicle health report, new 700-watt Sony sound system, integrated trailer brake controller, again a Super Duty innovation.
The business owner/user will absolutely fall in love with the Ford Work Solutions options: cargo management system, crew chief feature, tool management system and cable lock.
Having been to the Michigan Proving Grounds and driven the 2009 F-150 and the competition, I can say the truck is well built, quiet and the new seats are very comfortable, you actually sit in the seat not on the seat....and it definitely out performs all of the competition.
